LATEST NEWS Celebrating a 25th Anniversary - Pittsburgh Point Magazine The year was 1981. And it must have been a very good year. As with every year, businesses were starting up and some were winding up. That year, locally, The Pittsburgh Business Times began. The other day, I noticed that ISLANDS, another publication that I subscribe to, also began that year. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Pittsburgh Point magazine. Many businesses have come and gone in the span of the last twenty-five years. Some survived when nobody thought they would while other seemingly strong businesses that some thought would last forever didn’t. For a quarter of a century now, we’ve been giving directions to area visitors, tourists, and out-of-towners here in Pittsburgh and the area. Our job, as it were, and still is I might add, is to share with our readers the fine shopping, restaurants & hotels, arts, sports, history, and attractions to be found in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania. We’re proud to have guided and informed our readers along the way. And hopefully done away with some misconceptions… while opening up to everyone just some of what Pittsburgh has to offer. Yes, Pittsburgh, as many have found, can be a wonderful destination. Across the page are a select few of previous Point magazine covers from over the years. Included is the very first cover from 1981. This month, we’re very happy to have the HARD ROCK CAFE at Station Square on the cover, continuing the parade and tradition of fine Pittsburgh Point magazine covers. A.
